what you can expect

  • Inidvidual sessions lasting 45 minutes to one hour

 

The therapy always begins with the initial consultation.  This is an opportunity for you to get to know your therapist and address any particular questions or concerns.  The initial consultation forms an intrinsic part of the therapy and gives the therapist a fuller understanding of your issue and enables you to focus on what you would like the outcome of therapy to be for you.  The initial consultation takes one hour.  

 

During the consultation, the the therapist will offer a suggested treatment plan, which might consist of a single hypnotherapy session, or possibly a number of sessions over a short period of time.  Hypnotherapy generally operates as a short, solution-focused therapy, sometimes taking 2 - 4 sessions to complete.

 

How many sessions you need is dependent on your particular issue, your motivation for change as well as how you feel most comfortable working.  

 

The state achieved during hypnosis is a completely natural state and can be regarded as a very deep state of relaxation in which your mind becomes more focused and open to positive suggestion enabling you to make the changes you desire. The process will be fully described to you during the initial consultation.  No hypnosis will take place without you knowing and the therapist will always ensure you are aware when hypnosis is about to start.

 

Towards the end of your session, your therapist will guide you gently back to full alertness and will ensure you are fully awake before the close of your session.  Following your session, you will be absolutely fine to carry on with the rest of your day.
